FAQs — Santorini Sun Beauty

Frequently Asked Questions

Ancient Greek Superfoods. For Your Skin. Real answers — no fluff.

About the Brand

What makes Santorini Sun Beauty different from other natural skincare brands?

Every product is built around PDO-certified Chios Mastic — the world's rarest beauty resin, grown on one Greek island in 24 villages, harvested by hand for over 2,000 years. Our founder Paulina Theodore is Greek, a certified product formulator, and every ingredient comes from the Greek Mediterranean world. We are the original Greek botanical superfood skincare brand. You cannot replicate this story because you cannot replicate this heritage.

What are Greek botanical superfoods and why are they better for skin?

The Greek Mediterranean produces some of the most nutrient-dense, scientifically validated botanicals on earth — Chios Mastic, Prickly Pear, Helichrysum, Pomegranate and Frankincense. These are ingredients with thousands of years of documented human use, now validated by modern science. Chios Mastic is proven to inhibit collagen-destroying enzymes while building new collagen simultaneously — something synthetic retinols attempt to do with far more side effects.

Is this an Australian brand?

Yes. All products are formulated and made in Australia by our certified product formulator, using authentic Greek botanicals sourced directly from Greece.

The Ingredients

What is Chios Mastic and why is it special?

Chios Mastic is a resin that grows exclusively on the Greek island of Chios, in just 24 villages. The trees take 40–50 years to mature. It holds EU PDO (Protected Designation of Origin) status — the same protection given to Champagne — and UNESCO Intangible Cultural Heritage recognition. Science confirms it inhibits collagenase and elastase (the enzymes that break down your collagen) while stimulating fibroblasts to produce new collagen from within. Swiss biochemistry labs built a natural retinol alternative from it. It is in every Santorini Sun product.

Why is Prickly Pear Seed Oil so valuable?

Producing one litre requires 8 tonnes of fruit, 1 million seeds, and 36 hours of manual labour — making it one of the most expensive carrier oils on earth at ~$2,000 per litre wholesale. It contains 150% more Vitamin E than argan oil, the highest betalain antioxidant concentration of any plant, and phytosterols that researchers say can reverse the effects of ageing. It is in the Golden Ora Face Serum at $39.

Are all ingredients 100% natural?

Yes. Every product is formulated to the highest natural standard. No parabens. No sulphates. No synthetic fragrance. Cruelty free. Vegan. Made in Australia. A preservative is used where required to ensure product safety and shelf stability.

Using the Products

How do I use the products together for best results?

The Full Ritual: Almond Shower Oil in the shower (pour on dry skin, water transforms it to milk, rinse off luminous) → Body Glow Oil on warm damp skin immediately after → 3–4 drops of Golden Ora pressed into clean face, neck and décolletage. Head-to-toe golden hour glow in under two minutes.

Can I use Golden Ora under makeup?

Yes. Golden Ora is a silk-dry formula that absorbs completely with no residue — perfect under makeup as a luminous primer base.

What skin types are these products suitable for?

All skin types including combination, oily, sensitive, and dry skin. 100% natural formulations with no harsh synthetics that strip or irritate.
